Taunton Canoe Club meets weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as weekends.
Tuesday night is a general paddle for members, which includes marathon paddlers as well as general purppse canoeing. The general session runs from 7pm to 9pm
On Thursday nights the club uses St. James Street pool, from 9pm to 10pm for Coaching and Rolling or Polo. Pool sessions are charged at £4.00 or £5.00 per person, with a discount for families with two of more children. Please see the calendar for which events run on each Thursday.
From June to September we also have Open Sessions on Thursday from 6:30pm to 8pm. These sessions are open to both members and non-members and all are welcome from age 8 and up. There is a charge of £3.00 per session for non members. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult, although these sessions are supervised by qualified instructors.
Weekend paddling mostly consists of surfing in the summer and white water trips in the winter. The club also has two polo teams in the regional leagues and one in the national leagues, fixtures played usually through the autumn and winter at weekends.
We have a clubhouse in Priory Bridge Car Park, opposite the entrace to Somerset Cricket Ground, with showers, changing facilities and commitee room. There is easy access to the River Tone via a ramp outside the building.
