Taunton Canoe Club Ireland Trip 2002

Ireland Trip, May 2002

Ferry
It has to be said that some concerns were raised over the ferry Clive had booked for the trip. Where was the bar?
View from the Bungalows
The view from the bungalows was spectacular.
Accommodation
The accommodation needed a little work, it appears the landlord saw Clive coming from some distance...
Bay Surf
The good news was that the sea was rarely flat.
Sea Kayaking
A sea kayaking trip with 'Mad Frank' was one of the highlights of the week.
Lunchtime with Frank
Lunchtime on the beach during the Sea Trip included Ground Coffee and a few slices of 'Thelma and Louise', Franks well looked after (on the way to the abbatoir) Pigs.
Heading for Home
A chance to flex some muscles in the sprint for the shore.
Irish Driver
There are good places and bad places to park your car. This rates towards the 'bad' end of the scale.
Coastline
Ireland has some fantastic scenery, the South West has hundreds of miles of unspoiled coastline.
The Vaults
It would be unfair, and, some may say sacrilegious to display photos from Ireland and not include a pint of Guiness. If you get to Killanry be sure to check out 'The Vaults', which had a convenient 'Chipper' accross the road still open at three in the morning.
St Finans Bay Surf
St Finans Bay is one of the best surfing beaches we know of in South West Ireland...
St Finans Bay Surf
...and it's even suitable for anyone holding a paddle
